A big Thank you!
This June we are offering a big THANK YOU to all of you for making our Summer Camps so fun, popular and successful. Our students always amaze us with their achievements.Â
We are busy. We are baking. We are making Magic!
A very heartfelt THANK YOU from Bake Austin.
We couldn't do this without you.
These Rainbow Baked Doughnuts really bring the Summer fun! The trick is to mix small portions of the batter with food coloring. Don't forget the Sprinkles! Let your rainbow SHINE. Get baking!
Here's the recipe.
Rainbow Baked Doughnuts
2 cups flour
1 1/2 cups sugar
2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp kosher salt
1 egg
1 1/4 cups milk
2 Tbsp butter, soft
2 tsp pure vanilla extract
Â
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.Â
Spray 2 doughnut pans well.
Into a large bowl, mix together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.Â
Add the egg, milk, melted butter, and vanilla and mix until just combined. DO NOT OVERMIX!Â
Spoon the batter into 6 bowls.
Dye the batter in each bowl. Yellow, orange, red, green, blue and purple.Â
Spoon batter into the prepared baking pans, filling each one a little more than three-quarters full.Â
Bake for 17 minutes, until a toothpick comes out clean. Allow to cool for 5 minutes, then tap the doughnuts out onto a sheet pan.
Glaze:
1 cup powdered sugar
1 Tbsp water (add more if necessary)
Brush with glaze and sprinkle with rainbow sprinkles.
ENJOY!
At BAKE AUSTIN we like to think outside the box to keep things fun. Sometimes we come up with some pretty crazy ideas.
One of our Summer Camps was inspired by the popular show NAILED IT. The tension was high. The competition was fierce. And the results were amazing ...and hysterical!
All in the name of fun our judges were delighted to celebrate our contestant's sincere "genuine lack of skill."
But patience prevailed and creativity conquered!
And whatever you do, please don't press the PANIC Button!
