My brother & sister in law and I made a mad dash to Prague over the weekend. This was my first time and I have to say it was incredible! We walked and walked and walked some more, to the point that all we wanted at the end of the day, was a warm meal, and a beer so we could cry a little in silence. 😂 (my feet hurt so bad!)
So that said, my tip #1 for any future Prague visit, wear sensible shoes! The cobblestones under your feet are no joke and at the end of the day, I was so grateful I wore my hiking boots.
Tip#2 The tram system in Prague is incredible and combined with google maps we never got lost once. The tickets are cheap at around $1 per 30-minute ride, plus you can purchase your tickets with google pay or a card on the tram (little orange boxes you can find on each tram)
Tip #3 eat all the foods! Well, maybe besides the warm cheese, unless you enjoy smoked cheese, then you should eat it! But we had so much fun buying food from street vendors, “trdelnik”- is like a cinnamon roll except its more like a cone and sometimes filled with cream or Nutella.
Goulash - well you know what that is but OMG! so good, especially if paired with “knedliky” - potato and/or bread dumplings cooked in a cloth. (Recipe on my website) And of course “grilované klobásy” is a grilled sausage that is sold all over town. And the bread!!! OMG- the bread!!!! On our last morning, we literally walked across the entire city just to buy two loaves of bread at a bakery.
Yes, we had a great time and came home exhausted but oh so happy!
Now I am off to my last travel adventure in Europe to visit some friends from my Burning Man time last year in Berlin.
I wanted to remind you:
If you haven’t yet voted for Bake Austin - “Best Summer camp” in the Family/Kid category in the Austin Chronicle - please do so! Every vote counts and I believe you can vote more than once. It really helps so much to win Best Summer Camp! Thank you!
I opened two more In-Person summer camps, PLUS I still have room in a few more Virtual Summer Camps. Whether your kid is a budding baker or a grill master in training, we've got you covered. Check out our website to see all of our offerings and sign up for your next culinary adventure! (Virtual classes are charged per screen - so two kids can easily take a class together for the price of one)

Thank you and I will be back next week with another recipe!
I hope you had a lovely long weekend and that this email finds you in good spirits!
