Hello everyone

Summer is just around the corner, and I am excited to announce our virtual cooking summer camps! Our hands-on, informative, and fun-filled summer camps are designed to help your young chef learn life skills while making delicious recipes.

Thanks for reading EVERYONE CAN COOK! Subscribe for free to receive new posts and support my work.

I want to highlight the Teen Dinner Club starting on June 19th.

We will be exploring the rich flavors of India with our Indian Butter Chicken (or Tofu) recipe on Monday the 19th. We will then venture to China on Tuesday, June 20th for Orange Chicken (or Tofu), followed by Thai Red Curry on Wednesday, June 21st, where we will explore Vegetable, Chicken, or Tofu options. On Thursday, June 22nd, we will head to Japan for Teriyaki Chicken or Tofu, and finally, on Friday, June 23rd, we will be making Indonesian Satay Chicken or Tofu.

Of course, I will add a few surprise Asian desserts into the mix. Because we all know how they like their dessert.

Each class will be taught via Zoom, and you will receive an email approximately two weeks prior to the camp with the recipes, tool lists, and ingredient lists so that you have plenty of time to do the shopping.

The cost of this class is per household, so any siblings or friends in the same household are welcome to join for free, as long as they use one screen!

TEEN DINNER CLUB JUNE 19-23

All the recipes are made from scratch, allowing your teen to really learn how to cook and bake. I will explain the process and reasons why we do certain things - with lots of tips and tricks along the way!

Our virtual cooking summer camp is more than just a fun way to explore the flavors of the world. We have designed our classes to specifically promote safety, cleanliness, and responsibility, while still having fun. For teenagers especially, learning these skills is crucial as they develop into independent individuals.

Our three main rules, have fun, be safe, and clean up after yourself, are more than just guidelines. They teach responsibility, accountability, and the importance of following directions. I also emphasize the importance of cleaning as you go, which not only promotes safety and cleanliness but also helps prevent a pile-up of dishes and surfaces to clean, allowing your teen and family to enjoy the delicious meal almost immediately.

I encourage my students to ask questions to foster an interactive experience and help them learn invaluable life skills, such as resilience, communication, and recognizing and correcting mistakes, all in the comfort of their own homes. These skills not only contribute to their growth and development as individuals but also allow them to contribute to the family by creating meals for everyone to enjoy.

So don't miss out on this exciting opportunity! Sign up for our virtual cooking summer camp now and let your teenager explore new flavors, learn essential life skills, and have fun while developing independence and responsibility.

Best, Chef Pascal

I love that my son is learning where the supplies and ingredients are in his own kitchen at home. There is even time and instruction for cleaning up!” -Autumn S.

There are numerous benefits for teenagers learning how to cook, including:

  1. Healthier Eating Habits: When teenagers learn how to cook, they are more likely to make healthier food choices. They are able to control the ingredients in their meals and are less likely to rely on fast food or processed foods. This promotes healthier eating habits that can lead to better physical and mental health. And we all know that they can benefit from healthier eating habits.

  2. Life Skills: Cooking is an important life skill that every teenager should learn, soon they will go off to college or live on their own. By learning how to cook, they develop skills such as time management, organization, and problem-solving. These skills are important not only in the kitchen but also in their personal and professional lives.

  3. Independence: Learning how to cook gives teenagers a sense of independence. They are able to make their own meals and take care of themselves, which is an important step toward adulthood, and gives you a little freedom too.

  4. Confidence: Cooking is an accomplishment that can boost teenagers' confidence. When they successfully make a dish, they feel a sense of pride and accomplishment that can carry over into other areas of their life.

  5. Creativity: Cooking is a creative outlet that allows teenagers to experiment with different ingredients and flavors. This can inspire their creativity and help them develop their own personal style of cooking. I make sure to encourage creativity in my classes.

  6. Family Bonding: Cooking can be a fun activity that brings the family together. When teenagers learn how to cook, they can take on the responsibility of preparing meals for the family, which can promote bonding and create lasting memories. And don’t we all need a little bit more family time as they are learning to grow more independent from us?! I know I certainly enjoy mealtimes with my adult kids.

Overall, learning how to cook is an important life skill that can benefit teenagers in numerous ways. It promotes healthy eating habits, develops important life skills, promotes independence and confidence, encourages creativity, and can bring families together.
