Dec 2022 Chef Pascal Love Letter
Hello friends,
Here we are! It's the end of the year.
What a year it has been!
My girlfriends and I have a tradition every December to gather over a bottle of wine, a notepad, some colored pencils, and of course our brand-new calendar for the new year.
We check in with each other and since we've been doing this for a few years now, we review what we had set as goals for the year, and we each take turns talking about what we can check off the list.
In regards to the unfinished items, some carry over to the new year, and some things we realized we can drop altogether.
I usually come up with a few writing prompts for reflection and encouragement to dream big.
With the main goal to find gratefulness for all that we do.
We celebrate each other's wins, but also listen and support each other through the hard stuff.
Then we set goals for the new year.
It is sort of like a business plan for the next year, not just for our business, but also for our goals as parents, partners, and friends, goals for self-care, and dreams we might want to call into reality.
At the end of that session we schedule our check-ins, AKA girl’s night, we shoot for every 3 months, anything more often than that has deemed itself unsuccessful. 😂
It keeps us grateful, reminds us to celebrate the small wins, and is a good excuse to get together with friends, but it also keeps us on track.
We all know especially if we have kids, partners, or careers how busy we can get and how we don’t schedule our friend time often enough.
I would say that is probably one of my favorite things to do in December because it makes me feel like I am ahead of the game going into the new year with a plan.
I hope however you are wrapping up 2022, and that you can take a moment and reflect upon all the things you've accomplished in the past year, regardless of how big or small they are.
Celebrate your wins!
Have compassion with yourself for the hard stuff, and boy, this year has felt kind of hard!
I hope ya’ll are not stressing out too much about the upcoming holidays!
I am trying to make it relatively easy this year, my son is flying in from LA (little happy dance!).
I have my boys here- what else do I need?!
Oh and I think Chinese food is going to be one of our new traditions for Chrismas eve.
Sending everyone a big hug and permission to not stress out.
I will be sending out a few recipes in the next newsletters. If there is anything special you would like to see always feel free to let me know.
How do you wrap up the year? Do you have special traditions?
I am grateful to all of you!
